Blas Na HEireann – The Irish Food Awards

 

Awards season is upon us and right on the back of winning 2 gold stars at the Guild of Fine Foods, Great Taste Awards, we have just found out that not one, but two of our products have made it through to the final of the Blas Na HEireann – Irish Food Awards.

Now in its 10th year, Blas na hEireann, The Irish Food Awards is the biggest competition for quality Irish produce on the island of Ireland. The Blas awards are the biggest blind tasting of produce in the country, and the criteria on which the product is judged as well as the judging system itself, which was developed by Blas na hEireann with the Food Science Dept of UCC, is now recognised as an international industry standard.

We are totally overwhelmed that two of our products made it to the final. The competition and judging for Blas na hEireann is fierce. The final judging and awards presentation happens as part of the Food Festival on the Dingle peninsula in late September. We are excited and really looking forward to a weekend in Dingle and fingers crossed we can scoop an award.
